Letter from St. Thomas to the Diocese of Dallas

In response to this action by Executive Council, the Vestry is advising the Bishop and Executive Council of our position:

1. The Episcopal Church of St. Thomas the Apostle is a parish in the Episcopal Diocese of Dallas, and through that association a parish in the Episcopal Church in the United States of America. We value and honor this association.
2. The Episcopal Church of St. Thomas the Apostle disassociates itself from the decision of Executive Council for the Diocese of Dallas to become a provisional member of the Network of Anglican Communion of Dioceses and Parishes. In so doing, we direct the Diocese of Dallas that we should not be included in any lists of parishes supporting this membership, and that no contribution of St. Thomas the Apostle to the Diocese, financial or otherwise, should be used in support of the efforts of the Network of Anglican Communion of Dioceses and Parishes.

We look forward to our continued ministry in the Diocese of Dallas, and working with all in the Diocese. We respect the diversity in this Diocese, and honor the convictions of all. We ask that our convictions, as stated in this letter, receive that same respect and honor.
